Emergencies and disasters often strike when we least expect them, and can take many forms. Examples include an extended power outage, a medical emergency, heat waves, an earthquake, fire, flood or even a man-made disaster. You are encouraged to review, download and print this information and have it available in the wake of a disaster when power and internet connectivity may be out.

Remember, in the event of a widespread or catastrophic disaster, such as a severe earthquake, first responders (i.e., fire, police and paramedics) will likely be overwhelmed and may be unable to reach you for an extended period of time. In other words, be prepared to take care of yourself and your family for a minimum of three (3) days, although some experts suggest being prepared to be self-sufficient for up to four (4) weeks.
