A Palm Desert Police Dispatch Officer has confirmed that numerous burglaries have taken place in Desert Breezes, this past week with three occuring in the last three days.
While the officer declined to provide specific information due to ongoing investigations, Multiple Casa residents have reported the following incidents:
Wednesday, August 14, a house on Malta Circle was burglarized.
Thursday, August 15, a home on Via Magellan was burglarized,
Friday, August 16, a second home on Via Magellan was broken into and robbed.
Fortunately, the residents were not in their homes at the time of the burglaries, and there were no injuries.
The Dispatch Officer did offer the following suggestions:
1. If you know of neighbors who do not have email, please take a moment to personally alert them to these latest burglaries, and encourage them to be vigilant in their personal home security.
2. If you are out of town upon receipt of this notification, please contact a neighbor and ask them to look in on your home. In the event that is not possible, the officer suggested that you contact our property manager, First Service Residential, and request them to due so at 760.834.2480 (Their 24/ Emergency Number is 888.596.4984).
Please keep in mind that between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. each night, a security guard is stationed in the Clubhouse and can be reached at 760.595.1015. If you call this number during the normal hours of operation of the club house the phone will be answered by the concierge.
3. The direct phone number for our security service, Securitas Security Services is 760.779.0728. After hours, this number rings into a national call center.
4. Full-time residents should look in on their elderly neighbors and check on known vacant properties.
5. If you see anything or anyone that looks suspicious, including individuals or cars that you do not recognize, please contact the Palm Desert Police Dispatch at 760.836.3215 and they will immediately send out a patrol car. If you suspect a robbery in process, please do not confront these individuals personally, but dial 911.
